REVIVAL AT 13TH
YORK, PA – The 13th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion will be presented on July 11-12th at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds featuring a Junior Stock Revival that will be the topic of discussion for years.
The York US 30 Dragway closed in 1979 but the pilgrimage continues to York every second full weekend in July with the annual York Reunion. Legends of drag racing abound along with legendary race cars. The show features the gamut of competitive drag racing machines that competed at this world famous race track.
A special feature at this year’s event will be the Junior Stock eliminator cars and their proud owners. Many resurrected and others restored to present a facet of drag racing that celebrates the heritage of the sport.
Drag racing legends Arnie Beswick, Wally Booth, Dick Arons, Jere Stahl, Wally Bell, Marv Ripes, Jim Walther, Jim & Alison Lee, Kenny Warren, Bunny Burkett, Tom Sneden, Bob Frey, George Cureton, Linda Vaughn, “Miss Hurst Golden Shifter” and many more will be on hand to visit with their many fans during this popular show.
A special tribute will be held on Saturday for Bud Faubel who passed away during the holiday season. He will be honored by his peers and fans during the special presentation. Bud was a pilot during the Korean war, Vietnam war and was fan favorite with his “Honker” race cars.
The show hours are Friday, July 11th 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $15.00 children 12 and under free, active military FREE, and free parking.
The event supports the York County SPCA with proceeds from a special auction going to support their much needed support for the animals of York county.

York Springs, PA – The Inaugural Toy and Racing Memorabilia Show will be presented at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing on Sunday, September 15th at 100 Baltimore Road, York Springs, PA 17372.
Set-up for the show is 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. with the show opening to the public at 10 a.m. and running until 4 p.m. The show will feature all kinds of toy vehicles, i.e. matchbox, johnny lightning, model race cars and muscle cars along with a variety of racing memorabilia, vintage and current.
Vendors supply their own tables. Easy ups 10 X 10 and larger are accepted. All space is on a first come, first served basis. 10 X 10 spots are $30.00, 10 X 20 spots are $55.00. All proceeds benefit the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. It is the first Buy-Sell-Trade toy and racing memorabilia event to be presented at the museum. All spaces are an additional $10.00 on the date of the event.
The event provides the opportunity to tour the museum and enjoy a show that appeals to young and older alike.

SPCA PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD PRESENTED

YORK, PA - Wayne and Judy Meli of Hainesport, New Jersey won the SPCA People’s Choice award at the 12th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion presented at the York Expo Center this past weekend July 11-12th.
The award is presented from accumulated votes in canisters that are placed at each vehicle in the show. The audience places monetary contributions in the canisters and the entry that accumulates the most funds is the People’s Choice winner at the event. The Meli entry was a Tribute car to Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins which proved to be the most popular vehicle from the audience at the show.
The annual York Reunion has been responsible for generating in excess of $50,000 for the York County SPCA since its inception in 2002.
The 13th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion will be presented on July 11-12, 2014 with a Salute to General Motors.

RETURNS TO YORK
YORK, PA – Forty three years ago the world famous York US 30 Drag-O-Way played before many outstanding crowds who came to witness the best drag racing events to be presented and setting the stage of many lines in the history books of motorsports.
The heritage is relived the second full weekend of July every year at the York Fairgrounds, York Expo Center falling this year as a 12th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion on July 12-13, 2013.
The event has the largest attendance of legends of the sport at one time than any other event in this great country also appearing with the gallant legendary steeds that carried them to many firsts and records to the awe of the drag racing nation.
The York event will have a race simulator that attendees can vie for top speed on both Friday and Saturday. The winner each day will receive two tickets to the 10th Annual York Nostalgia Nationals at Beaver Springs Dragway on Sunday, July 14th. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the York County SPCA.
The event features a Salute to Ford with the Ford Fairlane Club of America presenting a display on the West Plaza on Friday. The new Frantic Ford funny car will debut at York and join Jim Barillaro’s Jack Chrisman GT-1 Comets, along with Don Nicholson’s ‘70 Maverick Pro Stock that put Ford back into the thick of the Pro Stock wars. Al Joniec’s Mustang and Arlen Fadely’s Super Stock magazine Maverick will also grace the halls.

COMING TO YORK
YORK, PA - In drag racing terminology, the ground pounders are coming to York for the Twelfth Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion to be held at the York Fairgrounds, York Expo Center on July 12-13th.
The giants of the sport made the ground shake and the vibrations of excitement from the fans. Top Fuel and Top Gas dragsters will be on display along with some of the legends who drove them to ultimate success of winning the NHRA US Nationals or other national events that put the car and driver on the marquee of fame.
D.A. Santucci's famous bubble gum car will be on display with wife Barbara Santucci being reunited with the late D.A.s original car that won the 1969 NHRA US Nationals along with Top Fuel dragsters of Jerry Baltes and the Special Edition Top Fuel dragster of Jim Walther. Jim will be reunited at York with the car that carried him to many drag racing titles back in the 60s.
The show will feature Comp coupes and injected dragsters among the group of door slammers that compose the Pro Stock through Jr. Stock eliminator categories. The York show is the annual reunion for just about every top name drag race star in the country, all who competed at the track that put their name up in lights.
The who’s who of legends who will be attending will include not only Jim Walther, but Bud Faubel, former World Champs Ed Miller, and Bruce Larson, Arlen Fadely, Bunny Burkett, Phil Bonner, Hubert Platt, Al Joniec, former World Champs Jere Stahl and George Cureton, along with legendary race cars of Dave Strickler, Bill Grumpy Jenkins, Sox & Martin and a host of legends and cars.

The 12th Annual event will see World Champ Ed Miller from Chesapeake, Virginia debuting his recently completed Mopar Duster the Hemi Duster. The famed Sox and Martin 68 Barracuda of Jim Rush will also steal some limelight during the event that this year presents a Tribute to Ford. Countless Ford entries will grace the halls as legends Hubert Platt, Phil Bonner, Al Joniec, Arlen Fadely and a host of others will sign autographs and participate in photo ops to the delight of show attendees.
The Central Pennsylvania Model Club will be presenting their display in minature of many of the legendary race cars that have attended the show or are in attendance this year. A special free Make and Take model building will be available to children 12 and under. Children build the model and have the pleasure of taking it along home upon completion.
Special tours will be running during the event to the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in York Springs. Sign up and time schedule for the shuttle van is located in the lobby at the show. Following the exciting tour all participants are returned to the show. The tours are provided free of charge on a first come, first served basis.

YORK, PA – A myriad of legendary race cars will converge on the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 12-13th for the presentation of the 12th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion.
The York Reunion is the event that sets the standard for “original” legendary race cars each year with this year’s event presenting a Salute to Ford and the ‘70 Ford Maverick of Dyno Don Nicholson sporting the original paint and engine that brought the Ford marque to their first Pro Stock win at the 1971 NHRA Summernationals. Doug Kenny of Riverview, Florida owns the car that became dominant in Pro Stock for the 1970 and 1971 seasons.
Jim Barillaro of Knoxville, Tennessee has entered his Jack Chrisman Comet’s to the stellar line-up. The original ‘65 Comet race car and the original ‘67 GT1 Comet that became world famous in the sport of drag racing.
Another driver carrying the Ford banner was Bob Glidden whose original ‘78 Ford Fairmont went undefeated in the competitive world of drag racing and will be on display for the York Reunion weekend.

The Cruisin’ Into Summer cruise in on the West Plaza will have a special display from the Ford Fairlane Club of America on Friday. YORK, PA - The Fairlane Club of America members will display their 1962-1976 Ford Fairlanes, Torinos, and select Mercurys at the 12th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion show on Friday, July 12, 2013, on the West Plaza at the York Expo Center, York fairgrounds in York. Club cars ranging from daily drivers to Concours restorations, from unrestored originals to modified machines, from sedate sedans to vibrant racers, will be coming in from across the U.S. and Canada to York for their annual gathering. The display will commence at 1 p.m. and last throughout the day.
Ford drag racing legends Arlen Fadely, Hubert Platt, and Al Joniec will be present to join in the Salute to Ford along with Miss Hurst Golden Shifter, Linda Vaughn and “Gentleman Joe” Schubeck plus a host of other racing legends.
The annual show’s charity of choice is the York County SPCA who receives proceeds from Best of Show voting canisters and from a special auction held on Friday at 5 p.m. The show has raised over $45,000 for the benefit of the local SPCA.

YORK SPRINGS, PA – Noted motorsports journalist and former sprint car driver Dick Berggren has agreed to be the honorary guest and keynote speaker for the Spring Open House of the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing on Saturday and Sunday April 6-7, 2013.
The weekend will kickoff on with drag racing Saturday! Saturday! Saturday! New displays honoring Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, Ken Montgomery, and Ron Wallace will be dedicated by special guests. A cackling thunder exhibition is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
On Sunday Berggren will offer the keynote address prior to joining in the dedication of the Chris Economaki Library with Corrine Economaki. More new displays featuring motorcycles and sports cars will be unveiled along with a special tribute to Paul Miller and the York County Racing Club.
Dr. Dick Berggren retired from FOX Sports NASCAR at the end of the 2012 season after 32 years as a pit reporter. He previously guided Open Wheel Magazine and currently publishes Dick Berggren’s Speedway Illustrated. As a former open wheel driver, Berggren brings a vast knowledge of competition to every motorsports event.

YORK SPRINGS, PA - The Eastern Museum of Motor Racing Spring Open House will be held on Saturday, April 6th and Sunday, April 7th in York Springs.
The drag racing section will present a new display of legendary drag racing vehicles along with the dedication of memorial blocks for Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, Ken Montgomery, Sr., and Ron Wallace.
Jenkins was legendary with his Pro Stock driving and wrenching on the dreaded Grumpy’s Toy entries out of Malvern, Pennsylvania. Ken Montgomery, Sr. was legendary with his famous Mopar “555” entries in Super Stock eliminator, and Ron Wallace was the popular owner/ operator of the South Mountain Dragway.
Among the legendary vehicles on display is the Revelleader funny car of Mickey Thompson, the famous “bubble gum” AA gas dragster of D.A. Santucci, and the Jenkins ‘65 Plymouth “Black Arrow” that carried “Grumpy” to his first major win at the ‘65 NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, California. A stellar display of other drag racing vehicles includes a vintage Top Fuel Harley Davidson motorcycle, a Junior Dragster display, and additional drag racing entries.
Dick Berggren, famous motorsports announcer and magazine editor will be on hand to join the festivities for the day, with Barbara Santucci paying tribute to her late husband, while Ed Hedrick and Larry Lombardo who drove for Jenkins, will pay tribute to their late boss. The Montgomery family will dedicate a Ken Montgomery display and the Wallace family will dedicate a Ron Wallace area while daughter Susan Jenkins will dedicate her fathers display all in the Memorial Display Case of the drag racing section.

YORK, PA – The National Nostalgia Drag Racing Association announced today the 2013 nominees for the Legion of Honor awards to be presented at the 12th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 12-13th.
The annual induction of the legends and pioneers of the performance industry and to drag racing from the early days, the 50’s thru 70’s era. Each recipient receives an individual award, a prized photo from the archives, and their names placed upon a perpetual award that is on display at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing located off US Route 15 in York Springs, Pennsylvania. The perpetual award remains in the museum in perpetuity.
This distinguished group contributed in varying degrees of involvement, some as racers, as officials, industry representatives, track promoters or developed specialized racing products with dedication far beyond the call of duty. The NNDRA presents these awards symbolic of a Hall of Fame each year at the York event.

12TH ANNUAL YORK
York, PA - The 12th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion will be held on July 12-13th, 2013 at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds marking the annual return to the “Best Days of Drag Racing” and a “Salute to Ford.”
The York event is the only independent event of it’s type in the country and has a broad appeal to the many former racers and fans that attended the drag racing events at the former York US 30 Dragway which closed 34 years ago in 1979. The event has the most Legends of Drag Racing and Legendary race cars of any event in the United States.
The popular “Cackling Thunder” will be featured when the Legendary race cars start-up and provide the music to the performance enthusiasts ears in attendance per a specific schedule during the two day show.
Twelve new members will be inducted into the Legion of Honor on Friday at 6 p.m. A perpetual plaque is on display at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing and each new member receives an individual award for their many accomplishments and
contributions to the sport of drag racing. Legends scheduled to attend the popular event include Arlen Fadely, Hubert Platt, Al Joniec, “Gentleman Joe” Schubeck, and “Miss Hurst Golden Shifter” Linda Vaughn to name a few. A host of Legendary race cars will also be on display and will include D. A. Santucci’s famous “bubble gum” Top Gas dragster and Jim Barillaro’s two Jack Chrisman Comets.
The show’s annual Charity of Choice is the SPCA. Funds from the People’ Choice voting canisters and a special auction will be presented during the event. The show has been responsible for over $40,000 in support to the SPCA.
The Cruise-In held on the West Plaza has been expanded to two days for this year’s event and will feature several local and national car clubs participating.
