York, PA - The winners for the '09 Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion show are hereby announced for both inside and outside shows held on July 10-11, 2009 at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds.

The show held its own with the 2008 show for attendance which is an accomplishment in itself with the status of the current economy.

IT'S ALL ABOUT HISTORY AT THE YORK REUNION

York, PA - Performance history comes alive this weekend July 10-11th at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds as York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publication Services present the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion.

The altered wheelbase '65 Dodge of the late Dave Strickler will return to York at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds this weekend July 10-11th for the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion. The car won the '65 NHRA Springnationals in Bristol, Tenn.

A stellar list of racing legends will meet and greet their many fans and racing peers at the event that has taken the nostalgia world by storm. Tommy Grove, "Ohio George" Montgomery, Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" Linda Vaughn, the "Voice of Drag Racing" Jon Lundberg, and a whole host of personalities who have made a indelible impression in the drag racing history books will celebrate their annual reunion and the annual reunion for York US 30 Dragway which ceased operations 30 years ago this season.

The show will feature 150 legendary race cars and muscle cars on the inside and the "Cruisin' Into Summer" cruise in on the outside will host over 600 muscle cars and street rods from all over the East. Admission to the show includes both shows.

The Cruisin' Into Summer cruise in will be presented both days by the Cruisin' Columbia staff. Hours are Friday, 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cruise in cars can be registered on the day of the show.

Admission to the show is $25.00 for discount two day ticket. $15.00 single day, children under 12 free and free parking. All active service men and women will be admitted free upon presentation of their active military i.d.

The Central Penna. Modelers will have a model display to the delight of young and old along with special models that have never been presented in the area until this show.

PERFORMANCE HERITAGE HIGHLIGHTED AT YORK

York, PA -  Call it Nostalgia Heaven, the York Reunion, or Musclecar Madness it is still the only show of it's kind in this country, it's the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion show that takes place at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds and is brought to you by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publication Services.

Billy Lynch of Huntington Station, New York will debut the recently restored Lynch Brothers Top Fuel dragster that campaigned the NHRA Northeast Division in the late 60's and early 70's at the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion on July 10-11th at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds.

The Golden Heritage Sponsorship by GMMG, Inc., York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publication Services have made it all possible to continue for eight straight years presenting a "nostalgia heaven" with the performance magic of the greatest Legends of Drag Racing making their annual appearance at York which features a Salute to Ford.

The legends list reads like a who's who in drag racing with "Ohio George" Montgomery, Jere Stahl, Hubert Platt, "The Voice of Drag Racing" Jon Lundberg, "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" Linda Vaughn, Arlen Vanke, Al Joniec, Sam Auxier, Jr., Bob Harrop, Bud Faubel, Wally Booth, Gordy Foust, Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, Bruce Larson, Bob Tasca, Sr., Monk Reynolds, Jerry Baltes, Jack Werst, Bob Chipper, Wally Bell, and many more.  

The Paul & Pam Balash Willys coupe will be unveiled at a special ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on Friday while Billy Lynch will debut the Lynch Brothers Top Fuel dragster that was just recently completed.

Legendary race cars like Eddie Schartman's Rattler II funny car, the Dave Strickler altered wheelbase '65 Dodge, the Gas Ronda altered wheelbase Mustang, the Tasca Ford '64 Ford Thunderbolt, the AMC Pro Stock Gremlin and AMC Hornet of Wally Booth, the Doug Thorley Javelin funny car, plus others will also debut at the annual York event.

The Central Pennsylvania modelers will present their annual model display with very detailed replicas of many of the cars that are on display.

The charity of choice is the York County SPCA with a popular memorabilia auction on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., numerous drawings, and proceeds from individual voting for the People's Choice. The goal is to exceed the $5500 in proceeds from the 2008 show. Thus far the York County SPCA has been recipient of over $31,000 from previous shows.

PIONEERS OF DRAG RACING CONVERGE ON YORK

York, PA -  A multitude of pioneers of drag racing will converge on the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds for the presentation of the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion brought to you by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publications Services.

Bob Glidden's Ford Probe Pro Stock race car that carried him to his phenomenal 85th NHRA National event win has been entered by Gary Blair of Pylesville, Maryland at the Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion show to be presented on July 10-11 at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds.

Top fuel veterans Jim and Alison Lee and their popular  driver Tom Raley will reunite and visit with a whole host of drag racing legends who will be in attendance for the two days.  Pioneers who provided the impetus for today's championship drag racing will be in abundance including Jerry Baltes, Wally Booth, Gordy Foust, Bob Tasca, Sr., John Healey, Earl Wade, Bob Harrop, Jack Werst, Wally Bell, Hubert Platt, Phil Bonner, Sam Auxier, Jr., Al Joniec, Jere Stahl, Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" Linda Vaughn, "The Voice of Drag Racing" Jon Lundberg, Arlen Vanke, Bruce Larson, Joe Jacono, Bob Chipper, George Snizek, Jerry Jardine and the list goes on.  

The show is dedicated to "Precious", the loving pet cat of the show promoters that was lost this week to illness. The show, since inception, supports the York County SPCA and has contributed over $31,000 in direct benefit from the annual show.  The goal is to exceed the $5500 that was contributed from last year's show.

York, PA - The beat goes on for the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion car show presented by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publication Services on July 10-11th at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds which is shaping up to be the best show ever!

The Fermier Brothers '62 406 Ford Galaxie will be making its first appearance since complete restoration at Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion on July 10-11 at York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds. The car was the 1965 NASCAR Winter Drags Champion at Spruce Creek Dragway in Daytona Beach and competed at the US Nationals from 1964 thru 1969.

The Salute to Ford will debut the completely restored Fermier Brothers '62 406 Ford Galaxie which has been completed in time for the show. This car was the 1965 NASCAR Winter Drags Champion at Spruce Creek Dragway in Daytona Beach and competed at consecutive US Nationals events in Indianapolis from 1964 thru 1969.

Bob Glidden's '94 Ford Probe 85th Victory Pro Stock race car will also debut at the show along with a whole host of Ford legends and legendary race cars.

The Paul and Pam Balash '41 Willys coupe will be unveiled at 2:30 p.m. for the first time since completion. The car is gorgeous and is a replacement for their Willys coupe that was stolen last year while enroute home from Beech Bend, Kentucky. The new car is an even finer specimen than the previous car and was completed in a record six months.

RONNIE SOX'S LAST RACE CAR TO APPEAR AT YORK
June 10, 2009

York, PA - The 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion presented by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publications Services on July 10th and 11th at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds will include a Salute to Ford among the action packed festivities for the two day event.  

The late Ronnie Sox was best known for his world renowned MoPar race cars.  Ronnie completed his racing career at the wheel of this '64 Comet Pro-Mod entry in the early '90's. The car will be part of the Salute to Ford at the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion on July 10-11th at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds.

Although the late Ronnie Sox gained his national renown with MoPar entries the York show will have on display his last race car, a '64 Pro-Mod Comet, and will include the Jake King Tribute Car, a '64 Ford Thunderbolt, recognizing Ronnie's very talented crew chief.

YORK, THE TRADITION CONTINUES

York, PA - The 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion will be held at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds July 10th and 11th brought to you by York Traditions  Bank and GGS Technical Publications Services.

In the tradition of all past events the "cream of the crop" among drag racing legends will converge on "York" one more time to relive the many memories of the '60's and '70's that unfolded at York US 30 Dragway with the staff and management holding their annual reunion commemorating the 30th year since the track ceased operations  

George Rupert and Lloyd Mauney were the last two cars to race at "York". Both are special invitees to this year's event marking their final race on September 29, 1979.  

A special unveiling will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. of the newly restored '41 Willys coupe of Paul and Pam Balash.  The new car replaces the gorgeous Willys that was stolen in Tennessee last June while the couple was enroute home from the NHRA event in Beech Bend, Kentucky.  

A potpourri of drag racing vehicles and muscle cars will be front and center when the doors open on Friday, July 10th at 1 p.m. and Saturday, July 11th at 10 a.m.  

A Salute to Ford will include Ford notables Bob Tasca, Sr., Phil Bonner, Earl Wade, Sam Auxier, Jr., Hubert Platt, Dick Estevez, Al Joniec, Tommy Grove, the group from 422 Motorsports, Bill Holbrook and Charlie Gray,and John Healey along with a host of Ford legendary race cars that include the Gas Ronda A/FX altered wheelbase Mustang, the new "Daddy Warbucks" Cobra Jet Mustang, the newly restored Cougar Air Lift Rattler II funny car of Eddie Schartman, and the Pete Peterson '69 Boss Mustang that sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Phoenix for $180,000 plus many more.

THE LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE CONTINUES
May 1, 2009 

York, PA - Automotive history buffs will have a field day at the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion to be held at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 10th and 11th brought to you by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publications Service.

The show features a combination of Drag Racing Legends  and the annual reunion for the former York US 30 Dragway with induction of elite members from the performance industry into the Legion of Honor along with a special Salute to Ford.  

Musclecars of the 60's and 70's will abound sharing the spotlight with Legendary race cars of the era that will be reunited with their previous owners. Brian Beattie of Macungie will debut the "Great Expectations II" top fuel dragster of Jim & Alison Lee of The Plains, Virginia and Nick Smith of Jupiter, Florida will reunite the Dave Strickler A/FX '65 Dodge Corontet altered wheelbase with the  Strickler family of York after 44 years.  

The special Salute to Ford will present a host of 60's and 70's musclecars which includes Dennis Bregitzer's '68 Ford Torino from Cleveland, Ohio.  

The late Terry Strickler and brother Tom of York will be included in the annual Legion of Honor inductions as  pioneers of the drag racing sport along with Ford stalwarts Sam Auxier, Jr.; Phil Bonner; Earl Wade; Hubert Platt; Bob Tasca, Sr; Bill Lawton; John Healey; Dick Estevez; and Al Joniec; Other recipients are Wally Booth;Jack Duffy;Charlie Dodge/George Snizek; Monk Reynolds, Jerry Baltes, Bob Chipper; Gordy Foust; and Billy West.  

The show benefits the York County SPCA with a special memorabilia auction held on Saturday afternoon. The goal is to exceed the $5500 proceeds from 2008.

A 44-Year Reunion at Musclecar Madness  
April 1, 2009  

York, PA - The Dave Strickler Racing Enterprises '65 hemi altered wheelbase Dodge will return to "York" after 44 years of some of the most momentous achievements in drag racing history at the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion, July 10-11th at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds.  The car will be appearing at the show for the first time.  

The late Dave Strickler of York as a member of the Chrysler factory team fielded the car for the '65 drag racing season and proceeded to win the first event for this type vehicle in NHRA competition at the '65 NHRA Springnationals at Bristol, Tennessee.  The car was campaigned at the '65 Super Stock Nationals at York US 30 Dragway and was featured in a world famous photo on the "York" starting line at the event which came to be known as the "Woodstock of Drag Racing" the largest one day event of the decade.  The car was formerly on display at the Chrysler museum in Michigan for several years.

The altered wheelbase cars were deemed "funny" since the rear wheels were tucked forward giving the race cars a distinct new look in competition circles.  The breed provided the stepping stone for what is now known as  the funny car category in NHRA competition.  

The show will provide a Salute to Ford with some of  Ford's finest representatives in attendance.  Bob Tasca, Sr. and Jr. and members of the Tasca family, Bill Lawton, Jr. and family will be representing his late father, and John Healey, the crew chief for the famed Tasca team all from Cranston, Rhode Island.  Other Ford namesakes  attending will be Charlie Gray, Farmington Hills, Michigan; Bill Holbrook, Livonia, Michigan; Hubert Platt, Cumming, Georgia; Dick Estevez, Clinton, Maryland; Al Joniec, Aiken, South Carolina; Sam Auxier, Jr., Gaithersburg, Maryland; Earl Wade, Porter, Texas; Phil Bonner,  Gainesville, Georgia; along with Tommy Grove and eight entries from the 422 Motorsports Group, Oaks, Penna.  

Outstanding Ford legendary race cars entered include  the Gas Ronda, '65 altered wheelbase Ford; the newly restored Cougar Air Lift Rattler II funny car of Eddie Schartman, the Pete Peterson '69 Boss Mustang that recently sold at Barrett-Jackson auction in Arizona for $180,000; not one but two of the new Cobra Jet Mustangs (limited production of 50), and a variety of gorgeous musclecars from the '60's and '70's.  

The tradition of re-uniting the Legends of Drag Racing with many of their legendary race cars continues at the "original performance heritage event" presented by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publication Services.  The shows' unique format makes it the only one like it in the country.  The show is attended by  national and international visitors each year.  

"York" is the annual reunion for the former York US 30 Dragway that ceased operations thirty years ago this season.  The memories run strong for the fathers and grandfathers who competed at this world famous track that was always an innovator and leader in drag racing.  

Legion of Honors awards are presented on Friday  evening at 6 p.m. with the induction of eighteen pioneers of drag racing joining the prestigious group of Legends  previously enshrined at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, US Route 15, York Springs, Pennsylvania.

York, PA - Eighteen Pioneers of Drag Racing will be receiving Legion of Honor awards presented annually by the National Nostalgia Drag Racing Association at the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion which will be presented at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds, 334 Carlisle Ave. on July 10-11, 2009.

For the first time in the history of the awards presentations two teams will be receiving awards during the popular awards ceremony which is presented on Friday, July 10th at 6 p.m.

The prestigious awards are presented to individuals who have made an indelible impression on the sport and the industry during the 60's and 70's. Each individual will receive an individual award and his or her name will be placed upon a perpetual award that will be displayed at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in perpetuity. The EMMR is located one mile North of York Springs, PA just off US Route 15.

 The 2009 inductees join a elite group of the sports' most famous names i.e. "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, Dave Strickler, Bruce Larson, Ronnie Sox, "Jungle Jim" Liberman, Don Yenko, Linda Vaughn, and the list goes on.

The 8th Annual Musclear Madness at the York Reunion hours are Friday, July 10th 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 11th 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

MUSCLECAR MADNESS ANNOUNCES STIMULUS PACKAGE FOR '09

The stimulus package to be presented at the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion show will include Kenny Warren's "Virginia Twister" funny car, and the "Dixie Twister" funny car of Houston Platt in the background.

York, PA - The stimulus package for nostalgia and drag racing history buffs includes a blast from the past with one of the finest line-ups of legendary race cars and personalities to be gathered at one show at one time during the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion to be held at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds, 334 Carlisle Ave., York, PA on July 10-11, 2009.  

The newly restored Cougar Air Lift Rattler II funny car of Eddie Schartman will start stimulating an anxious crowd of nostalgia fans to kick off a strong blast from the past.  

Paul and Pam Balash will debut their newly restored '41 Willys coupe that will be completed for York and unveiled at a special ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.  The new car replaces the gorgeous car that was stolen in Tennessee last June while the couple was on their way home from the NHRA event in Beech Bend, KY.  

The stimulating continues with a special showing of one of the 50 special new Cobra Jets that were built by Ford and debuted at the NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, California in February.  

Joining the Salute to Ford at the show will be Hubert Platt, Tommy Grove, Phil Bonner, Al Joniec, Earl Wade, Sam Auxier, Jr., Bob Tasca, Sr., Dick Estevez and the list goes on.  

The East and West Memorial Halls will be chock full of excitement with two of Wally Booth's great pro stockers, his AMX and Gremlin, in addition to, Doug Thorley's Javelin funny car.

The event annually supports the York County SPCA with proceeds from a special memorabilia auction on Saturday, from special voting canisters at each entrants car, and special 50-50 drawings held throughout the show. The goal is to raise $6,000.

SALUTE TO FORD AT YORK REUNION

York, PA - It has been thirty years this year that York US 30 Dragway ceased operations at the York Airport, Thomasville, PA but the tradition runs deep for the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion that takes place on July 10- 11, 2009 at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds.  

The founder and publisher of Super Stock and Drag Illustrated magazine and co-owner of York US 30 Dragway, Monk Reynolds will make his first appearance at the annual reunion.  

The York drag strip was one of the most prominent drag racing facilities in the United States and was the host of the largest one day drag race in the history of the sport, the Super Stock Nationals in 1965.  The race to this day is known as the "Woodstock of Drag Racing". No drag race ever presented can lay claim to the title.  

The memories are relived every year the second full weekend in July with the presentation of the annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion.  The 8th Annual will be no exception and is brought to you by York Traditions Bank, and GGS Technical Publications Services.

8TH ANNUAL MUSCLECAR MADNESS ANNOUNCED

York, PA - York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publication Services will present the 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion show at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 10-11, 2009.  The show has become a tradition with the annual Reunion for York US 30 Dragway that closed thirty years ago this year.   

The show is not only an annual reunion for the York track but has also become an annual reunion for some of the most prestigious names in drag racing, all who have competed at this famous track at one time or another. The show is the only show of its kind and will feature over 700 cars at both the inside show and the Cruisin' Into Summer cruise in on the West Plaza.  

The continuance of the show has been made possible by Golden Heritage Sponsor GMMG, Inc. of Marietta, Georgia and the "Detroit Rat Pack". GMMG produces some of the finest vehicles in the world with details at www.GMMGInc.net.  

The Detroit Rat Pack is composed of drag racing legends, Wally Booth, Dick Arons, and Gordy Foust all who will be in attendance at the show.  

The 2009 show features a "Salute to Ford" with many Ford Legends to be in attendance for the celebration. York, PA - The celebration of the heritage of the sport of drag racing unfolds each year at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds during the presentation of Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion.  

The tradition continues when the Legends of Drag Racing converge on the show to pay tribute to the former York US 30 Dragway and to attend their own annual reunion.

Twelve deserving recipients are inducted into the Legion of Honor and are presented an individual award and their names enscribed on a perpetual plaque that is placed in the Eastern Museum of Motorsports in York Springs, PA in perpetuity.  

The NNDRA honored thirteen recipients with the inclusion of an Honorary inductee Arnie "Farmer" Beswick from Morrison, Illinois (on the far right).

THE HISTORY OF YORK US 30 DRAGWAY UNFOLDS AT THE 7TH ANNUAL MUSCLECAR MADNESS

York, PA - Heritage and tradition unfolds from the opening hour until the closing bell at the 7th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion to be presented at the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12th.

The former York US 30 Dragway has touched many, many lives of individuals in the Central Pennsylvania area, as well as, those nationally and world wide.   

International visitors are expected from India, Australia, and the UK, in addition to, many from California, Arizona, New Mexico and all points east.  

Joining the vast display of gas coupes and sedans will be the "Tribute Car To Chuck Finders". The '33 Willys Coupe of Dave Cobb from North Ridgeville, Ohio.  The car joins an elite display of "Willys Heaven" Willys coupes and sedans and is called "Finders Keepers"  

Ronnie Allyn a regular at Atlantic City will be presenting the program "Remembering Elvis" on Friday, July 11th at 7:30 p.m.  

The show will feature a display from the Ford Fairlane Club of America on Friday,  a York County Corvette Club show on Saturday, and a "Tribute to Oldsmobile" which will feature some of the finest Oldsmobile entries to be assembled at one show.  

A unique Nostalgia Theater is presented by show sponsors York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publication Services during the two day show featuring highlights of many historic moments at York US 30 Dragway.

PACERS RETURN TO MUSCLECAR MADNESS AT THE YORK US 30 REUNION

York, PA - Owner Jerry Joaquin of Glendale, Arizona will be returning to York with his newly restored Pacers AA altered roadster.  Jerry, a former firefigher in New York City and former NYPD police officer has dedicated the car to all the firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11. The car will carry the number 343 which is the total of firefighters lost on that tragic day.  It is ironically the same number for Jerry's former department with the fire company.  

The Pacers Automotive car was driven at York US 30 Dragway in the mid-sixties and won the eliminator honors driven by George Snizek of Long Island. George and his son Scott will be in attendance as well.  

The 7th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York US 30 Reunion will be presented on July 11-12 at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds and is the only show of its type in the United States.

York, PA - Recent International Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins will return to the 7th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion on July 11th and 12th sponsored by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publication Services.  

Jenkins joins a list of Legends of Drag Racing that includes Herb McCandless, Wally Booth, Gordy Foust, Sam Auxier, Jr., Bud Faubel, Joe Jacono, Bruce Larson, Wally Bell, "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" Linda Vaughn, "The Voice of Drag Racing" Jon Lundberg, Arnie "Farmer" Beswick, and the list goes on.  

A special "Tribute to Oldsmobile" will be presented with entries from across the United States appearing to  participate in the recognition being paid to the marque.  

The show will feature a "Willys Heaven" with some of the finest gas coupes and sedans to ever be featured at one show, Paul and Pam Balash's '42 Willys coupe, Dave Schrader's '41 Willys coupe, Al Nosse's '33 Willys coupe, Dave Hale's '37 Willys coupe, Yvonne & Randy Davis' '33 Willys coupe,  Mike Wales and Joe Troilo's Stone Woods and Cook '41 Willys coupe, Paul Bath's '41 coupe, Larry and Wanda Bianchet's "Filthy Forty" coupe, all coupled with an S & S Race Team display.  

The "Cruisin Into Summer" cruise will be held on the outside with over 600 beautiful muscle cars and street rods on display along with the Ford Fairlane Club on Friday and the York County Corvette show on Saturday.  

Ronnie Allyn will present a special presentation "Remembering Elvis" on Friday at 7:30 p.m.  

The show benefits the York County SPCA with proceeds from a special memorabilia auction on Saturday at 6 p.m., 50-50 drawings throughout the show, and money placed in the voting canisters for the People's Choice Award.  

The show opens on Friday at 1 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.  Admission is $25.00 for two days, $15.00 single day, children under 12 free, and free parking.

3RD ANNUAL MOTORSPORTS DAY AT THE CAPITOL
June 6, 2008

York, PA - Many of the state of Pennsylvania's finest muscle cars and nostalgia drag racing cars will be on display at the state capitol in Harrisburg on Tuesday, June 10th at Soldiers Grove which is located on the plaza to the rear of the state capitol building.  

The display will feature Pennsylvania Legends of Drag Racing with a spectacular display of legendary race cars and muscle cars from the '60's and '70's.  

The display is presented by the Pennsylvania Motorsports Tourism Committee comprised of legislators in Harrisburg and industry promoters.  

The event will be attended by Pennsylvania Drag Racing Legends Bruce Larson, Bud Faubel, Ken Montgomery, and Jere Stahl who have contributed immensely to the growth of motorsports in Pennsylvania.  The group will receive individual citations for their accomplishments on the house floor by their respective representatives.  

The event is scheuled for 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will feature displays from state drag racing tracks, Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion, and numerous industry related displays.

BESWICK RETURNS TO YORK
May 12, 2008

York, PA - Arnie "Farmer" Beswick is returning to York with his "Tameless Tiger" Pontiac GTO at the 7th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion on July 11th and 12th sponsored by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Service Publications.  

Beswick is a true legend in drag racing  and was featured at York US 30 Drag-O-Way on June 22, 1963 with two cars a 421 horsepower Tempest Station Wagon and his unbeatable "Passionate Poncho" '63 Catalina Pontiac versus the late Ronnie Sox who was featured as the "King of the South".

Beswick who recently celebrated his 53rd Wedding Anniversary with his wife Evelyn is still very active in drag racing and will return to York to visit with his many fans at the annual York Reunion.  

Arnie will be joined by Drag Racing Legends Ken Montgomery, Sam Auxier, Jr., Larry Reyes, Arlen Vanke, Joe Jacono, Ed Miller, Bud Faubel, Bruce Larson, Wally Booth, Gordy Foust, Jere Stahl, "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" Linda Vaughn, "The Voice of Drag Racing" Jon Lundberg, Tom Sneden, Ed Hedrick, Jack Werst, Herb McCandless, Ed Hedrick, and the list goes on.  

Legendary race cars to be on display will be the famous "Old Reliable" Chevrolets of the late Dave Strickler, which will include the rolling chassis of his first 409  '61 Chevrolet Biscayne currently in progess of rebuild. Others in the group will include Arlen Vanke's "Tin Indian", Bud Faubel's '64 "Honker", the Jim & Alison Lee top fuel dragster,  the "Tasmanian Devil II" AA/A '23T supercharged Roadster, Jerry Baltes' top fuel dragster, the "Hemi Hunter" top fuel dragster, along with many of the countries finest muscle cars of the '60's and '70's.  

History unfolds before you at each of the York Reunions, never to be repeated by the same legends or legendary race cars.  Every show is a cherished moment as many of the Legends are departing at an alarming rate.

York, PA - Pennsylvania has long been a hot bed of drag racing activitiy and has provided the stepping stone to National and World Championships.  It also has thousands of the countries finest muscle cars from the 60's and 70's.

On Tuesday, June 10th the stage will be set for the sport of drag racing and the muscle car renaissance to highlight the impact that each has had and still has to the economy of the State of Pennsylvania with a stunning display before the decision makers at the state capital plaza to the rear of the state capital building in Harrisburg.

The Pennsylvania Motorsports Tourism Committee, comprised of legislators in Harrisburg and industry promoters will present this  potpourri of legendary race cars and '60's and '70's muscle cars at this public display.

The event will be attended by Pennsylvania Drag Racing Legends Bruce Larson, Bud Faubel, Ken Montgomery, Jere Stahl, and Jack Werst.  Others will be added to the elite group who will be introduced to state legislators on the house floor during the event.

York, PA - The tradition continues with the presentation of the 7th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion on July 11-12, 2008 at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds.

The historic events and feats at the famous York US 30 Dragway will be relived at the annual reunion by the Legends of Drag Racing and the former staff and management of the York facility will be on hand to honor the twelve new inductees into the Legion of Honor for 2008.

7TH ANNUAL MUSCLECAR MADNESS "A TRIBUTE TO OLDSMOBILE'

York, PA - Oldsmobile owners and members of the Oldsmobile Club of America will be converging on the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 11-12, 2008 for "A Tribute to Oldsmobile" in conjunction with the 7th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion.

The second weekend of July tradition continues as Ron McHugh of Alexandria, Virginia will debut the newly concours completed restoration of Paul Mayo's 442 race car. John Troxell of Allentown a renowned Olds stalwart will debut his '72 Olds, John Kenneally of Atlanta will also debut his '66 Olds W-30 and Bruce Larson will have his World Champion Sentry Olds funny car as part of the group. Oldsmobile entries from throughout the United States are expected for this special tribute.

The York event is the "original" performance heritage event presented by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publication Services. The event is the only independent event of its kind in the country.

York, PA - The 2008 recipients for Legion of Honor Awards were announced today by the National Nostalgia Drag Racing Association and will be presented at the Seventh Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion car show to be presented at the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 11-12, 2008.

Legion of Honor awards will be presented on Friday, July 11th at 6 p.m. at special ceremonies honoring twelve annual recipients. Receiving the prestigious awards will be Herb McCandless, Alamance, NC; Ed Hedrick, Washington, NC; Dave Reitz, Pasadena, MD; Jack Werst, Langhorne, PA; Jon Lundberg, Oro Valley, AZ; Ken Montgomery, Jenkintown, PA; Joseph McNally, Hatboro, PA; Ed Miller, Chesapeake, VA; Dale Smith (posthumous) Oldsmobile; Ed Eaton, Boca Raton, FL; Fred Gibb (posthumous) Laharde, IL; and Darwin Doll, York, PA.

The award for Dale Smith will be received by Jeannine Mayo on behalf of her husband Paul. The award for Fred Gibb will be received by his wife Helen Gibb.

The awards (equivalent to the Hall of Fame) are presented by the National Nostalgia Drag Racing Association to deserving recipients for their many contributions to the performance industry. A special individual award is presented to the recipient and his/her name is placed upon a perpetual award that will be displayed at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in perpetuity. The EMMR is located one mile North of York Springs, PA just off US Route 15.

The newly restored "Filthy Forty" of Charlie Hill which was driven by Pork Zartman of Hanover, PA will make its debut at the York Reunion & Nostalgia Nationals on July 13-14, 2007, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds.

Legends and Historical Rides Confirm Attendance at York Reunion
May 22, 2007

York, PA - However you look at it, it is two months, eight weeks or sixty days until the Sixth Annual York Reunion and Nostalgia Nationals on July 13-14^th at the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds.

Another history lesson will unfold with Ralph Ronzello and the Chrysler Museum presenting two legendary race cars of Roger Lindamood and the famous Color Me Gone Mopars.  Percy Johns will debut the MoTech ’68 Barracuda of John Tedder,  Ed Kowalski will present his Model A rear engined drag coupe, and Bob Rosetty will present the original Lowell Lister “Sidewinder” dragster.

A special unveiling of Charlie Garrett’s ’33 Willys Coupe recently completed by Yvonne & Randy Davis will be presented on Friday at 2 p.m.  The car was recently finished and Charlie has not seen the car which will be kept under wraps until the York Reunion.

The Central Penna. Modelers will present their display of model race cars which is a delight to young and old alike.  The detail and meticulous presentations are marveled at each year of the show.

Recent confirmations of attendance were received from Carl Bennett & Ronnie Sirianni of NED stock eliminator wars, as well as, Bill Izykowski who competed in the category in his own right  and with Paul Blevins’ outstanding ’55 Chevy Nomad in Modified Eliminator and several of his own Corvettes.  Izykowski was the NED Stock Circuit Champion in 1968.

Charlie Gauthier will have the immaculate “Jolly Dolly” ’39 Chevy coupe of Bob Bernardon, who we recently lost, at the show as part of the Gasser Reunion.  Paul Rashley will likewise present George Weiler’s ’64 Comet A/FX, and a host of Yenko Camaros, and Novas from the Super Car Workshop in the muscle car category.

The York Reunion is the only show like it in the country – unique with vast histories in each personality and race car in attendance.  The show is an all inclusive show of street driven muscle cars, street rods, legendary race cars, legends of drag racing, and quality show only muscle cars of the ‘60’s and 70’s.

York, PA - Quoting Webster a reunion is "coming together after separation" and the Sixth Annual York Reunion will unfold on July 13-14, 2007 at the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds where the memories of the largest one day drag race will be relived, the '65 Super Stock Nationals at York US 30 Dragway.

Joining in the festivities will be Jon Lundberg the Voice of Drag Racing who announced this historic event.  It was drag racing's "Woodstock" and will never be duplicated but the Legends who participated will join in the pilgrimage to York to relive the memories and feats of this monumental event and visit with fans and many drivers that they competed against.

York, PA -  Websters Dictionary defines Nostalgia as “a longing for something long ago” and it has been 28 years since the York US 30 Dragway has been closed but the billions in memories and millions of dollars worth of cars that will be attending the Sixth Annual York Reunion and Nostalgia Nationals attest to the steadfast popularity of the nation’s most innovative drag racing facility at this annual reunion for the staff and management of the track and for the Legends of Drag Racing during their annual reunion. 

Each car that is entered has a vast history that comes alive at this love fest of performance. Some very emotional histories with both sadness and joy abound. One such history is that of the “Salty’s Shaker” ’55 T-Bird of Joey Saltimachia. Though Joey is no longer with us his memory is very much alive when his creation makes it’s first showing for his beautiful, newly restored T-bird. The car is now owned by Bob Salerno of Ridgewood, New Jersey. The car is a fitting tribute to Joey and his parents who will join in sharing their history at the show. 

Another car to make the show will be the Seaton Super Shaker Corvair that was built in 1966 by Jay Howell Automotive in conjunction with Pete Seaton Enterprises as a match race car. The car was driven by Delmar Heinelt and was known as the “Seaton Shaker”. The car will be at the show in its original state and will undergo a complete restoration for the ’08 show by Matt Murphy of Marietta, Georgia. 

Other cars to delight the history buffs will be Dickie Harrell’s ’68 Camaro Funny Car, the ’69 Dick Arons 427 Camaro Super Stock drag car, two of Charlie Garrett’s gassers, the ’56 Chevrolet and the ’33 Willys coupe, the great looking ’65 Falcon A/FX “Strip Teaser” of Greg Sullivan of Huntsville, Alabama and the “Happy Days” hot rod from the popular “Happy Days” TV series to name a few. 

This year’s show will be presented by Toyota and moves to the new Toyota Arena at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 13-14^th. 

A giant two day cruise-in will be hosted by the Motor Menders of York who recently celebrated their 50^th Anniversary as an active car club in the York area. 

The Legends of Drag Racing attending the show will be Jack Werst, Ken Montgomery, Bruce Larson, Joe Jacono, Jim & Alison Lee, Bud Faubel, Ed Miller, Ed Hedrick, Dick Brannan,Marvin Rifchin, Linda Vaughn, Judy Lilly, Arlen Vanke, Wally Booth, Dick Arons, Wally Bell, Tom Raley, Tom Sneden, Dave Reitz, Jungle Pam, “Ohio George” Montgomery, Jere Stahl, Ray Allen, Walt Weney, Jr., Bernie Agaman, Paul Mayo, George Weiler, Ed Kohler and the list goes on. 

A “Gasser Reunion” will be an added feature to the show with many of the nation’s finest gas coupes and sedan cars to ever grace a quarter mile starting line. 

The show is an annual benefit to the York County SPCA with a special auction of memorabilia, 50-50’s and the proceeds from the People’ Choice voting all going to this worthwhile cause. 

The show opens Friday, July 13^th from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 14^th from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. 

The following day “Suddenly It’s 1969” at Beaver Springs Dragway for the Fourth Annual York Nostalgia Nationals. See many of the cars from the show in action. The gates open at 8 a.m. Without a doubt the best in nostalgia anywhere!

Star-Studded List of Legends Slated to Appear at 6th Annual York Reunion
February 15, 2007

York, PA -  The nostalgia phenomenon continues with musclecar madness of the 60’s and 70’s as Toyota presents the Sixth Annual York Reunion and Nostalgia Nationals at the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 13-14^th.

In addition to being the annual reunion for the staff of York Dragway and the many competitor’s who competed there the show has become the annual reunion for the Legends of Drag Racing which number many.

Bruce Larson returns with one of his famous “USA1” Camaro funny cars, Ken Montgomery and his triple nickel 555 Mopar, Downing & Ryan’s ’67 Fairlane will make it’s debut along with former owners John Downing and Jim Ryan, Brian Beattie will debut the “Great Expectations” top fuel entry of former owners Jim and Alison Lee who will likewise be in attendance, Bill Izykowski who gained prominence driving the Scotto & Blevins ’55 Nomad, along with a host of other prominent industry notables.

A star studded Gasser Reunion will be a feature of the show with many gas coupe and sedan entries from many areas of the country being featured. Barbara Hamilton the first female driver to be licensed to drive a supercharged vehicle in competition will lead a contingent of gassers to be displayed which will include the debut of Gene Altizer’s newly restored Anglia, Dave Hales and Fred Bear will have their famous S & S Racing Willys coupes, along with Ed Kohler who made the King Kong Anglia famous and the Stone Woods & Cook Willys to name a few.

The show is a benefit for the York County SPCA each year. A memorabilia auction will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. with the proceeds going to the SPCA. There will also be 50-50 drawings and proceeds from People’s Choice voting that will be for the direct benefit of the organization. Proceeds in ’06 exceeded $4400.00.

The show features a Cruisin’ Into Summer cruise in on the outside which draws over 550 entries which will be hosted by the Motor Menders of York. Year One will join the activities with a special display on the West Plaza. The show will feature a DJ and lots of prizes and awards for some of the finest street performance vehicles in the country that will be on display.

The York Nostalgia show begins on Friday, July 13^th at 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 14^th from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with action moving to Beaver Springs Dragway on Sunday, July 15^th for the presentation of the York Nostalgia Nationals beginning at 8 a.m. Ticket prices are $12.00 for one day, & $20.00 for a special two day ticket. Children under 12 free accompanied by an adult and parking is free. Handicap parking is provided.

Legion of Honor Awards Announced
February 3, 2007

York, PA - The 2007 recipients of Legion of Honor Awards were announced this week by the National Nostalgia Drag Racing Association and will be presented at the Sixth Annual Musclecar Madness car show at the York Reunion and Nostalgia Nationals to be presented at the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 13-14, 2007 .

Legion of Honor awards will be presented on Friday, July 13^th at 6 p.m. at special ceremonies honoring  twelve annual recipients.  Receiving the prestigious awards are George Weiler, Birdsboro, PA; Wally Bell, Fredericksburg, VA; Ray Allen, Upland, CA; Ralph Truppi, North Branch, NJ; Walt Weney, Jr., Spring City , PA ; Harold Ramsey (posthumous) Chestertown , MD ; Paul Mayo, Ginter , PA ; Bernie Agaman, Eatontown, NJ; Tom Sneden, Bryantown , MD ; Don Yenko (posthumous) Washington, NC;  Marvin Rifchin, Waltham , MA ; and Malcolm Durham (posthumous) Hyattsville, MD.

The award for Harold Ramsey will be received by his son, Henry Ramsey.  The award for Don Yenko will be received by Ed Hedrick and the award for Malcolm Durham will be received by his wife and son Bernard.           

The awards  are presented by the NNDRA to deserving recipients for their many contributions to the performance industry.  A special individual award is presented to the recipient, and his/her name is placed upon a perpetual award that will be displayed at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in perpetuity.  The EMMR is located one mile north of York Springs , PA just off US Route 15.

6th Annual York Reunion to Feature Gasser Reunion
January 15, 2007

York, PA - Musclecar Madness of the '60s and '70s comes alive for the sixth straight year at the York Reunion and Nostalgia Nationals presented at the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 13-14^th and the Nostalgia Nationals drag race at Beaver Springs Dragway on Sunday, July 15^th, presented by Toyota Trucks. 

The Sixth Annual show will feature a Gasser Reunion that will be attended by the best of the best of the gas coupe and sedan category of the NHRA. Gene Altizer will debut his newly restored Anglia, while Vinnie Musiciaro of New York will debut the recently completed Jack Merkel ’33 Willys, Randy Davis will debut the recently restored Garrett & Hempfing ’33 Willys, and Carlos and Mary Cedeno will have Ed Kohler with the King Kong Anglia that the Kohler Bros. made famous in the 60’s. The S & S gasser group will be well represented along with the East Coast Gasser group.  

The show has become the annual reunion for the Legends of Drag Racing which will include Joe Jacono, “Ohio George” Montgomery, Tom Sneden, “Miss Mighty Mopar” Judy Lilly, Bud Faubel, Jim & Alison Lee, Ken Montgomery, Dick Brannan, Jere Stahl, Arlen Vanke, Jungle Pam, Dick Arons, Gordy Foust, Wally Booth, Wally Bell, Ray Allen, Paul Mayo, Walt Weney, Jr., Bernie Agaman, Linda Vaughn, and the list goes on. 

A special guest at this year’s show will be Marvin Rifchin of M & H Tires. Marv was a driving force in the history of drag racing and produced the racing slicks that adorned many of the countries most competitive drag racing machines in the country. A true pioneer to the industry Marvin will be available to meet and greet his many customers and race fans at this historic event. 

Legendary race cars to be on display at the show will be Bob Rosetty’s recent find, the Lowell Lister “Sidewinder” dragster, the Hemi Hunter top fuel dragster, the Berger Chevrolet Camaro of Dick Arons, the “Seaton Shaker” Corvair funny car , the ‘69 Dickie Harrell funny car, the movie car ’55 Chevy from the movie “Two Lane Blacktop”, the Stone Woods & Cook “Swindler II”, and many more that are being added daily.

York Reunion Returns for 6th Year of Musclecar Madness
December 15, 2006

York, PA - While sleigh bells ring and children sing Musclecar Madness is sweeping the country.  For 2007 the York Reunion & Nostalgia Nationals will be presented by Toyota at the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 13-14th culminating with the outstanding York Nostalgia Nationals on Sunday, July 15th at Beaver Springs Dragway.

Joining Toyota as Associate Sponsors of the show & race are Year One, Weis Markets, Cars By Dealers, Triangle Communications and Signs By Tomorrow plus others that will be finalized soon.

Definitely a crowd favorite is Miss Linda Vaughn "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" who will be returning to her favorite show, along with Judy Lilly, "Ohio George" Montgomery, and Barbara Hamilton the first female to be licensed by the NHRA to drive a supercharged vehicle in competition. A host of Legends of Drag Racing will be making their annual trek to York for the show.

A group of twelve deserving recipients will be inducted into the Legion of Honor at the show. The recipients will be announced in January. Individual awards are presented to each recipient and their names will be added to a perpetual award that is placed on display in the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in York Springs, PA.

The charity of choice, the York County SPCA who will derive much needed revenue from 50-50 drawings, and a memorabilia auction that raised $4439.17 at the 2006 show.

The Motor Menders of York will host the Cruisin' Into Summer cruise-in which will be held both days, Friday and Saturday on the West Plaza. A dj and lots of prizes and awards will be presented to some of the finest street musclecars, trucks, and street rods in the East.

The show's main theme for '07 is a York Nostalgia Gasser Reunion featuring the popular gas coupe and sedan classes of the '60's and '70's and will look like a who's who of the popular category. Along with Barbara Hamilton will be Charlie Garrett and Lavern Hempfing's newly restored '33 Willys coupe from Hanover, PA. The Stone-Woods & Cook Willys of Joe Troilo and Ed Kohler making his first appearance with the King Kong Anglia that he and his brother made famous and now owned by Carlos and Mary Cedeno of Lockport, New York and the newly restored '33 Willys of Jack Merkel owned by Vinnie Musiciaro of New York plus many more.

The York Reunion and Nostalgia Nationals is a combined effort of Darwin Doll, former NHRA Division Director and Beaver Bob McCardle of Beaver Springs Dragway. Both are dedicated to the preservation of our performance heritage.
